Melvin E. Seeley, 61, Roseau, Minn., formerly of Bovey died Thursday, March 5, 1998, in his home in Roseau.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday in Peterson Funeral Chapel in Coleraine, where services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Stacy Sikes officiating. Interment in Evergreen Knoll Cemetery in Talmoon.

Melvin E. Seeley, 61, Roseau, formerly of Bovey, died Thursday, March 5, 1998, at his home. He was born May 27, 1936, in Wadena County, the son of George W. and Alice E. (Davison) Seeley. He had been a Trout Lake area resident for over 30 years prior to moving to Roseau. He married Mary Miller on Sept. 8, 1962, at Wadena. He had been a mechanic for LTV Steel, a member of the Church of Christ in Hibbing and had served with the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. He is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, Scott, Grand Rapids, Brian, Roseau, Mark, Baudette, and Dale, Bovey; two daughters, Kim Bratsch, Clara City, and Kerry Close, Thief River Falls.; his mother, Alice Seeley, Grand Rapids; four brothers, Darwin and Bruce, both of Deer River, Larry, Bovey, and Erlyn, Cohasset; four sisters, Lauretta Braford, Pillager, Waneta Hoopman, Judy Peck and Jane Hoopman, all of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren, Sara, Dale Jr., Michael, Tyler, Dallas Marie, Jennifer and Brady; and five stepgrandchildren, Brad, Kristal, Cheri, Dustin and Emily. Preceding him in death were his father, George, three sisters, Naomi Braford, Laura Adams and Florence Smith, and five brothers, Paul, Phil, Harvey, Jess and Perry. Funeral: Tuesday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine, with the Rev. Stacy Sikes officiating. Visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel. Burial: Evergreen Knoll Cemetery, Talmoon. Arrangements by Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine.
