Miles G. Seeley, 86, a retired partner in the law firm of Mayer Brown & Platt, died in his Jackson, Wyo., home Dec. 4. Mr. Seeley is a former resident of Lake Forest. In his career, he represented clients ranging from banks and railroads to motion picture distributors and the Metropolitan Sanitary District, now the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Mr. Seeley received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan. He joined the law firm in 1932 and became a partner in 1941. For 22 years, he was a trustee of the Menninger Foundation and served as chairman of its executive committee from 1978 to 1982. He was honored in 1985 by the National Association of Private Psychiatric Hospitals with its Presidential Award for being an outstanding volunteer trustee. He was also a past member of the board of the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Survivors include a son, Miles; a daughter, Judy Seeley Renshaw; and four grandchildren. Services will be private
