Mrs. Myrtle J. Seeley Uniroyal-Footwear retiree

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Myrtle Jean (Jones) Seeley, 89, of 130 Woodbine St., died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at her home. She was the widow of Rolland E. Seeley who died in 1990.

Mrs. Seeley was born in Hazelton, Penn., on April 3, 1918, a daughter of the late Ezra and Cora (Applegate) Jones, and had been a Connecticut resident since 1940, first living in Norwalk and moving to Naugatuck in 1956. She retired in 1977 from Uniroyal-Footwear Division with more than 15 years of service.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Naugatuck and Post 17, American Legion Auxiliary.

She leaves a daughter, Barbara Lewis of Naugatuck, with whom she made her home; a son, Ronald E. Seeley of Glendale, Ariz.; a brother, Clayton Jones of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Marjorie Eckert and Joann Hackett, both of Norwalk; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Jones.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
