STERLING – Nancy J. Seeley, 72, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at CGH Medical Center, with her family her side.

Nancy was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Decatur, the daughter of Waverly (Sharp) and Marshall Rotz, their only daughter.

She graduated from Sterling High School, Class of 1955. She stayed in contact with a group of her classmates and enjoyed "catching up" with them.

Nancy was united in marriage with Ray "Buzz" Seeley on Sept. 6, 1958, at First Christian Church, Sterling. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

A hard-working woman, Nancy managed 16th Avenue Grocery and was a pharmacy technician in two local pharmacies. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, the deck overlooking her backyard, and shopping on QVC. Nancy had an extraordinary capacity for love and lived her entire life with dignity and selflessness.

Nancy is survived her husband; her mother and best friend, Waverly; her son, Scott (Deana) Seeley; one daughter, Andra (Ron) Shaw; and son, Jay (Samatha Petty) Seeley. Nancy had four grandchildren, Trey, Duran, and Saryn Seeley, and Stephanie Roman, all of Sterling. Nancy also is survived two brothers, Marshall "Jim" Rotz of Georgia and Jerry (Marcella) Rotz of California. Nancy will be fondly remembered her many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death her father.

Nancy survived breast cancer and battled rheumatoid arthritis valiantly.

Her wishes were to donate her body to scientific research and to hold no funeral services.

The family will hold a celebration of life for family and friends in the spring.
