Mrs. Nancy Seeley, Windfall Resident, Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Nancy Seeley, 82, Windfall, widow of John S. Seeley, died in Mercy hospital, Elwood, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

She had been in good health and lived alone until one week ago when she suffered a light stoke while kindling a fire. In her fall from the stroke she suffered a fractured hip bone which contributed to her death.

The deceased was the daughter of Martin and Frances (Roberts) Vice and was born in Franklin county, Kentucky, January 11, 1862. She came to Windfall at the age of 17, where she married John S. Seeley, who died 24 years ago, February 16.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Plummer of Windfall and Mrs. Clarence Horton of near Tipton, and two sons, Walter of Windfall and Fred of Elwood. Surviving also are two brothers, Nathan Vice of Elwood and John Vice of Richmond. There are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Seeley had been a member of the Windfall Baptist church many years. Services are to be held there at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. O.W. Bowman of Hemlock in charge. Burial will be in the Brookside cemetery.

The body was returned from the Jackley funeral home at Elwood to the home of Mrs. James Plummer, at Windfall, where friends may call.
