Publication Raymond "Ray" C. Seeley, 91, Schofield, died Monday, June 21, 2010, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1918, in Hancock. On Nov. 18, 1939, he married Dolores M. Spatz in Dubuque, Iowa. She survives.

For more than 27 years, Ray was the owner/operator of the Schofield Barber Shop, and also worked at Drott Manufacturing for eight years until his retirement. Some of Bill's pastimes included fishing, hunting, wood working, and tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. He also took pride in planting many varieties of trees; but his true passion was his family, especially the time he got to spend with his grandsons.

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Seeley, Schofield; his daughter-in-law, Barbara Seeley, Valparaiso, Ind.; two grandchildren, Marc and Kris Seeley; his sisters-in-law, Genevieve Krueger, Mary Nienow and Gertie Spatz, all of Wausau; his brother-in-law, Bernard Spatz, Wausau; along with many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Seeley; and two brothers, Vernon and Harry Seeley.

At Ray's request, there will be no services.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the kind and courteous staff at Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the outstanding care extended to Ray during his stay with them.
