Richard “Dick” Seeley

Richard "Dick" Seeley of Olympia, Wash. died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1993 at Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was 65.

Born December 5, 1927 in Aberdeen, Wash. he had served in the Army from September 1946 to February 1948. He had been part of the occupation forces in Japan. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1953 and was a physicist for the Department of Navy for 31 years before his retirement in 1986. He was a resident of Olympia since 1988 having moved there from Ridgecrest where he had lived for 31 years. He had been a member of the China Lake Golf Club and the Desert Community Orchestra for many years. He was an avid golfer, duck hunter, musician, woodworker and bowler.

Mr. Seeley is survived by his wife Berta E. "Betty" of Olympia, son and daughter-in-law David and Jean of Issaquah, Wash., son Robert of San Francisco, daughter and son-in-law Carol and Ray Franich of Ridgecrest, brothers Leonard of Grass Valley and Eugene of Redmond, Wash., father Ralph Seeley of Olympia, grandchildren Rachel and Aaron of Issaquah and Lucas and M. Arbie Franich of Ridgecrest. He was preceded in death by a sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:30 pm at Olympic Funeral Home, 5725 Littlerock Rd., SW, Tumwater, Wash. Chaplain Dick Powell of Sound Home Health, Olympia will officiate. Entombment will follow in Olympic Mausoleum.
