SCARBOROUGH -- Roberta A. Seeley, 83, died on Saturday, May 28, 2011, from bladder cancer at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.

Born Roberta Anne Libby in Boston, Mass., she grew up in the Kennebunks.

Predeceased by her husband of 47 years, she married Frederick E. Seeley and dedicated herself to raising four children.

A resourceful woman with multiple talents, she designed, built, and remodeled with her husband more than two dozen homes in Kennebunk.

To many local families, Mrs. Seeley's nursery school provided a trusted, creative, environment that positively influenced children and their families for over fifteen years.

Roberta was a dedicated lover of animals, who favored dogs and horses. She was a lifelong athletic and enjoyed horseback riding, golf, tennis and swimming.

A woman of wit and wisdom, who made it through on strength and courage; she was resilient to the end of her life.

She leaves behind four children, Debbie, Mark, Rick and Valerie; five grandchildren, Gregory, Zachery, Rebecca, Hannah and Brooke; and her loyal, loving dog Annie.
