Robert A. Seeley, age 68, of Hudson, died at his home in Hudson on Jan. 6, 1998, where he had been a resident since 1967.

He was born in Freeport, Ill., and graduated from Knox College in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Second Lt. in the Counter Intelligence Corps and was stationed at Fort Sill, Okla., and Fort Holabaird, Baltimore OCS School. Mr. Seeley was employed as a Field Manager for the Merchants Property Insurance Co., of Indianapolis, Indiana until he retired in 1983. During his retirement, he worked for the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed photography and traveled extensively with his wife on their boat for six months of each year. His hobbies included boating and teaching classes for the U.S. Power Squadron. Woodworking was another of his hobbies. Mr. Seeley enjoyed making beautiful furniture sets for the Hudson Players.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (nee Ferguson); daughters, Lynne Seeley of Yarmouth, Maine and Dana Seeley of Menlo Park, Calif.; son, Ron Seeley of Burlington, Vt.; five grandchildren; and his sister, Cynthia Hiteman of Middleton, Wis.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora Street, Hudson, Ohio 44236. It is suggested by the family that memorials be made to the Memorial Fund at the church or to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
