ROBERT E. SEELEY, 72, RETIRED PERSONNEL MANAGER

OAKHAM - Robert E. Seeley, 72, of 183 Hapgood Road, a longtime personnel manager, died yesterday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Virginia F. (Fitzsimmons) Seeley; two sons, Kenneth R. Seeley of Shrewsbury and Scott F. Seeley of Oakham; a daughter, Katherine E. Seeley of North Brookfield; and two grandchildren. He was born in South Weymouth, son of George E. and Kathryn (Clapp) Seeley, and was raised in Quincy. He lived about 15 years in Billerica and 24 years in Oakham. He graduated from Quincy High School and Boston University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.

Mr. Seeley was the personnel manager at Avco Inc. in Wilmington, where he worked for 15 years. He was then personnel manager at Barre Wool Combing Co. in South Barre and St. Ann's Hospital in Fall River. He retired in 1983. He was a member of the New Braintree Grange. He was once active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Billerica.

After cremation, a funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of New England, 67 Belmont St., Worcester 01605. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield, is directing arrangements.
