Russell V. Seeley, 89, of Lockport died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, at Provena Villa Franciscan Nursing Home. He was born in Joliet, living in Lockport for more than 65 years.

He worked for U.S. Steel for 43 years, retiring in 1975. He was a fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 4400 and was a member of St. John Vianney Church.

He is survived by his children, Ronald D. Seeley Sr. of Joliet and Charlene Vlahos of Crest Hill; five grandchildren, Mike (wife Dawn) Vlahos, Susan (husband Tim) Burton, Ron (wife Kim) Seeley, Michael Seeley and Renee Seeley; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Martin (wife Mary) and Raymond (wife Joan), both of New Lenox, and Pat (wife Esther) of Colorado; two sisters, Ann Schauland and Frances Davis, both of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Gudac); his parents, Martin and Gertrude (Klingloff) Seeley; three brothers, John, William and James; and a sister, Genevieve Hamilton.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 6, at St. John Vianney Church in Lockport. Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
