SEELEY Ruth M. VanVacter Seeley, 97, Clinton, Mo., died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Clinton, Mo. She was born in Princeton, Mo. on May 7, 1908, the daughter of Solomon VanVacter and Fama Nae (Oder) Vanvacter. She was married September 19, 1926, to James (Jim) Ezra Seeley. As a young high school graduate, Ruth taught in the rural schools of Mercer and Harrison County, Missouri and attended Maryville State Teachers College between school terms. She completed her degree and graduated from the University of Missouri during the 1940's. Ruth continued to teach in the elementary schools of Missouri at New Franklin, School of the Osage, and Eldon, Missouri until she retired in 1973. She always enjoyed sewing. In her retirement years, Ruth enjoyed playing bridge, growing flowers, and traveling. Survivors include: one son, James Seeley, Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Mary Anne Pyle, Clinton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Ellen Taylor, Cockeysville, Maryland, James Seeley, Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jeffery Pyle, Shawnee, Kansas, Lynda Michalk, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nancy Beck, Ashland, Missouri and 10 great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, infant identical twin daughters, Lois and Louise, and five siblings, Ethel Mae, Bertie Hazel, Roscoe, Lucy Orah and Virginia Mabel all preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, Mo. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the funeral home with Rev. Cleo Colville officiating. Interment will be in the Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Mo. Memorial contributions suggested to Twin Lakes Hospice, 725 E. Ohio, Clinton, Missouri 64735.
