CALUMET - Ruth Seeley, 79, a resident of Park Avenue Apartments in Calumet passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center in Laurium.

She was born on October 25, 1924, in Calumet, a daughter of the late Charles and Matilda (Moilanen) Linja.

She attended the local schools.

Ruth spent her early years in Calumet and later moved to the Detroit area to live and spent most of her adult life there working as a home care companion until she retired in 1984 and moved back to Calumet where she made her home in the Park Avenue Apartments.

Ruth was married to Raymond Roytio in 1960 and he preceded her in death in 1990.

She was a member of the Laurium Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five brothers, Edward, Charles, Eino, Toivo and Paul; seven sisters, Hilda, Ann, Helen, Martha, Bertha, Elizabeth and Vienno.

Surviving are one son, Kevin Roytio and Elizabeth Hakala of Mohawk; two daughters, Gail McGuire of St. Clair, Mich. and Susan Swann of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Kelsey Roytio and her mother, Wendy Hansen and Dennis McGuire; one brother, Edsel (Esther) Linja of Calumet; two special nephews, David Linja of Virginia and Scott Evans of Belleville, Mich.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held in the Erickson-Crowley Funeral Home in Calumet on Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Johnson to officiate.

Burial will be in the Waasa Cemetery.
