Stanley Seeley, 72, of Duryea, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Hospice Community Care Center, Scranton. He was born in Avoca, on December 11, 1938, and was a son of the late Harold and Mary (Roug) Seeley. Stanley attended St. Mary's School, Avoca, and was a graduate of Avoca High School. He retired in 2001 from the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph Seeley; his sister, Ann Marie Dugan; and his grandson Chad Seeley. Stanley is survived by his sons, Stanley and his wife, Bernie, Lake Ariel; Steve and his wife, Donna, Pittston, and Joseph and his wife, Amy, Lake Ariel; and daughters, Caroline and her husband, Paul Pohoda, Pittston, and Cathy and her husband, Michael Oliveri, Pittston. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with Fr. Phillip Sladicka of St. Mary's Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca, officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held at the East Canaan Cemetery, Waymart.
