VANDALIA - Ted D. Seeley, 68, of Farber, died at 11:24 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2007, at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia. The Rev. Bob Balwanz will officiate. Interment of his cremains will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral chapel.

Mr. Seeley was born April 27, 1938, in Vandalia to William Glenn and Laverta M. Barnes Seeley.

He was married to Darlene Presson on Nov. 16, 1957, in Bowling Green. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Ricky W. and James A. Seeley; two daughters, Sherry Lee Ellis and Tori Ann Hatton; one brother, William Wayne Seeley; seven grandchildren, Andrea M. Puttnam, Joseph E. Seeley, Matt Ellis, Adam Ellis, Christopher G. Seeley, Charlene Hatton and Jennifer Seeley.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, and one grandson.

Ted Duane Seeley passed away at 11:24 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Missouri. After graduating from Van-Far High School in 1957, Ted worked at the Ely Walker and Bobby Brooks garment factories in Vandalia for a few years. He then worked as a police officer for the City of Vandalia for a couple years. Ted then went to work at North American Refractories Company in Farber and retire in 2001 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Farber Christian Church and a devoted member of the Dam Few Car Cruisers Club of the Vandalia area.

Born: April 27, 1938 in Vandalia the son of William Glenn and Laverta Mae (Barnes) Seeley.

Married: Darlene Presson on November 16, 1957 in Bowling Green; she survives at the home.

Survivors include: two sons, Ricky Wayne Seeley of Cleveland, Ohio and James Allen Seeley of Mexico, Missouri; two daughters, Sherry Lee Ellis of New Hartford, Missouri and Tori Ann Hatton of Centralia, Missouri; one brother, William Wayne Seeley of Indiana; seven grandchildren, Andrea Marie Puttnam, Joseph Edward Seeley, Matt Ellis, Adam Ellis, Christopher G. Seeley, Charlene Hatton and Jennifer Seeley.

Preceded in death by: parents, one brother, Glenn Dale Seeley who died in infancy and one grandson, Steven Eugene Puttnam.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the AMC Cancer Center, Mexico or to the Ted Seeley Scholarship being started by the Dam Few Car Cruisers Club.
