THEODORE R. SEELEY, 81

TOWNSEND - Theodore R. Seeley, 81, of 468 Main St. died yesterday at Nashoba Community Hospital, Ayer, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife, Esther J. (Stockwell) Welch Seeley; three daughters, Eleanor F. Pugliese of South Pasadena, Fla., Elizabeth A. Gilmore of Holden and Marie L. Elam of Minnesota; three sisters, Laura Duke of Townsend, Ethel LaBatt of Amesbury and Kathleen Lowe of Fitchburg; and six grandchildren. His first wife, Frances L. (Smith) Seeley, died in 1981. Born in Lubec, Maine, son of George and Fannie (Fletcher) Seeley, he lived in Townsend more than 30 years.

Mr. Seeley was employed for many years as a machinist at General Electric Co. in Fitchburg.

He was a member of the Townsend Congregational Church where he served as a deacon. He was a founder and first president of the Townsend Golden Ager Club, and was a member of the General Electric Quarter-Century Club.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Townsend Congregational Church, Brookline Street. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours at T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Townsend Congregational Church, Organ Fund, P.O. Box 487, Townsend, 01469.
