GREGORY - Thomas Jay Seeley, 47, Gregory, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Avera Gregory Healthcare Center. Survivors include his mother, Florence Seeley, Gregory; two children, Derek Seeley and Danielle Seeley, both of Gregory; two sisters, Marcia Broome, Burke, and Mary-Jane Green, Tulsa, Okla.; and one brother, Greg Seeley, Overland Park, Kan. Services will be at 11 a.m. CDT Friday, June 16, at Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Kotrba Funeral Home of Gregory is in charge of arrangements.

GREGORY -- Thomas Jay Seeley, 47, of Gregory, died on Monday, June 12, 2006, at the Avera Gregory Healthcare Center, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 16, at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium at 11:00 a.m.

Tom was born on July 7, 1958, to Jay and Florence (Nash) Seeley at Gregory, South Dakota. He grew up in Gregory and graduated from Gregory High School in 1976.

Tom began working with his father at Seeley Jewelry Store in Gregory at the age of 19. He continued managing the jewelry store after the death of his father in 1991 until 2004 when he started working at Buche Foods in Gregory. Illness forced him to retire in October of 2005.

He was a member of the Gregory Commercial Club, Gregory Volunteer Fire Department, A.B.A.T.E., Gregory Rotary Club and Gregory Golf Association.

On August 16, 1986, he was married to Machelle Haugan of Platte. To this union twins, Derek and Danielle, were born.

Survivors include his mother, Florence Seeley, of Gregory; two children: Derek and Danielle Seeley of Gregory; their mother and family friend, Machelle Seeley of Gregory; sisters, Marcia (Jack) Broome, of Burke; Mary-Jane Green of Tulsa, OK; and brother, Greg (MaryLynn) of Overland Park, KS; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law Harvey Green.

Kotrba Funeral Home of Gregory is handling arrangements.
