Former Las Vegan Dies In Accident

Former Las Vegan T/SGT Dick Seeley, 33, died in El Paso, Tex., Sunday morning, according to word received in Las Vegas by his aunt, Mrs. Frances Walker.

Sgt. Seeley and his wife, the former Ruth Quillan of Las Vegas, were stopped at an intersection when their car was struck by another vehicle, resulting in his death and the hospitalization of Mrs. Seeley who suffered cuts and bruises. He had been serving in the armed forces for a number of years, making a career of army life.

Sgt. Seeley is survived by his mother, Mrs. A.L. Seeley, Artesia, a sister, Mrs. Adria Hines of Ardmore, Colo., and two brothers, Reynolds of Hope, N.M., and Truxton Seeley of Antonio, Tex.

A military funeral service will be held in El Paso, as he was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Tex. Burial with graveside services to be held in Albuquerque Friday at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, under the direction of French-Fitzgerald Mortuary. He will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the French-Fitzgerald funeral home in Albuquerque.

Traffic Victim’s Final Rites Pend

Funeral arrangements are pending for Sgt. Victor W. Seeley, 33, a former resident of Las Vegas, N.M., who was killed in an automobile accident at El Paso Saturday night.

The body will lie in state at the Chapel in the Garden at French-Fitzgerald mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Sgt. Seeley was on active duty at El Paso during the time of his death. He was formerly stationed at Sandia Base.

Service arrangements will be announced later.

The family requests contribution to the heart fund in place of flowers.

Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Ruth Seeley, Las Vegas; his mother, Mrs. Jessie E. Seeley, Artesia; two brothers, R.W. Seeley, Hope, and T.L. Seeley, San Antonio, Tex., and one sister, Mrs. C.N. Hines of Colorado.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruth Seeley, his mother, Mrs. Jesse E. Seeley of Artesia, N.M., two brothers, R.W. at Hope, N.M., and T.L. of San Antonio, Tex., and by one sister, Mrs. C.N. Hines in Colorado. His remains will be brought to Albuquerque and will lie in state at the French-Fitzgerald Mortuary Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Service arrangements will be announced later. The family prefers contributions to the Heart Fund in place of floral tributes.
