Vora Leroy Seeley


56, of Decatur died 12:05 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 7, 1998) in Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in J.J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home with visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials: American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Seeley was born in Sumpter on May 25, 1942, the son of Daniel and Inez Oakley Seeley. He was an Army veteran and was a welder for Allis-Chalmer, Architectural Iron Works and later for Ornamental Iron Works. He married Phyllis Joann Craw on July 11, 1973. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1995.

Surviving are his son, Tim Seeley of Keller, Texas; stepsons, John Wheeler and Kenny Wheeler, both of Decatur; stepdaughters, Dona Wheeler and Debra Tertocha, both of Decatur; sisters, Dorothy Fogle and husband Dean of Belleville; Betty Bland and husband Charles of Anna; Maxine Myers and Connie Parker and husband Kenneth, all of Greenup; Karen Seeley Trigg and husband John of Toledo; Rose Cutright and husband Max of Ashmore; Nancy Willoby and husband Ralph of Riverton; Kathleen Garrett and husband Paul of Lincoln; special friend and caregiver, Kathryn South of Decatur; two grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, including Darrell Seeley of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Willard Seeley, Eugene Seeley, Billy Seeley and Ronnie Seeley and sister, Norma McCloud.
