Walter E. Seeley, age 85, died Monday, June 23, 2008. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 27, 2008, Forest Grove Cemetery at 18011 Northcraft Road SE, Tenino.

Walter E. Seeley, 85, a thirty year resident of Rainier, Washington, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Puget Sound Healthcare Center in Olympia. Mr. Seeley was born August 20, 1922 in Maple Falls, Washington to Herbert and Maud (Stormes) Seeley.

Walter attended Rainier School in his youth. In October of 1946 he joined the U. S. Army serving in Company A of the 132nd Training Battalion. After the service he had been a farmer and rancher most of his life. Walter enjoyed gardening, raising trout, cattle, horses and sheep.

He is survived by one son, David Seeley of Olympia; one daughter, Elaine Whittington of Butte, Montana; and eight grandchildren. For the last thirty years he and his companion, Marion Peterson, lived and worked on the farm they tended in Rainier. Marion survives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly; thee brothers, Bernard, Leon and Norm; also four sisters, Eleanor, Lois, Isabelle and Dorothy.
