Walter F. Seeley of Newton died, Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Janet (Kennealy) Seeley, he was the loving son of Marion (Gates) Seeley of Waltham, and the late Earlon L. Seeley. He was the devoted father of Walter F. Seeley Jr. of Newton, Sharon Merrill and her husband, Lawrence Jr., of Waltham, Sandra Marchese and her husband, Wayne, of Waltham and Sheryl Seeley of Nashua, N.H. Brother of Asa Seeley of Stoneham, Earl Seeley of East Longmeadow, and Carol Lee of North Carolina. Also survived by five loving grandchildren. Walter attended Cambridge schools and afterward went into the Air Force to serve his country. He was a firefighter for the city of Cambridge for 15-plus years. Outside of his working life, he was a member of the Waltham VFW and had interests in hunting, guns, motorcycles and boating. A funeral service will be held in the Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut St., Newton Center, Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. (Route 16), West Newton, Monday, Jan. 18, from 4-8 p.m.
