Wanda Irene (Ridley) Seeley

Wanda was born October 2, 1921 in Denver, Colorado to Louis W. Ridley and Lillian Hodgins Ridley and passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2008. She grew up in north Denver and graduated from North High School in 1939. She attended the University of Denver for two years, until she met and married her wonderful husband of 55 years, James C. Seeley. They were married in 1941 In North Platte, Nebraska and moved to Colorado Springs in 1948. Jim preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her two daughters, Judith and Jayne Seeley, both of Colorado Springs, two granddaughters, Christy A. Martinez (Vincent) of Colorado Springs, Beth Shiflett (Dennis) of Alexandria, Virginia, and four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Olivia, Mollie, and Katie. Wanda’s greatest joy was to have the family together for holidays and good times fishing and camping in the mountains. During Wanda’s life, she was active in Job’s Daughters, Daughters of the Nile, and supported her husband’s activities in the Al Kaly Shrine Mule Train. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of the same bridge group for over 50 years. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart for the last nine years. A celebration of Wanda’s life will be held at the family home Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 p.m.
