FORESTVILLE - William D. Seeley, 90, of Allegany Road, Forestville, passed away Monday, June 14th, at TLC/HN-Lake Shore Hospital, Irving, following a short illness. He was born in the Town of Hanover on January 18, 1920, the son of the late Jasper and Olive (Snyder) Seeley. He worked as a truck driver and laborer for the Town of Hanover, retiring in April 1986. Mr. Seeley was a resident of Forestville for the past 65 years. He had a great love for the outdoors, his grape fields, which he worked until this year and baseball. Mr. Seeley played for the Grape Belt League from 1956-1974 and the Forestville Old-Timers until the age of 88. He was a successful Amateur Boxer and won the Golden Gloves Boxing Championship. Mr. Seeley was an avid bowler & golfer and was a big Yankees fan. Survivors include his wife Vivian I. (Bell) Seeley, whom he married January 12, 1939; three sons, Randy (Lucia) Seeley of Silver Creek, Willard (Doris) Seeley of Irving and Jeffrey (Denise) Seeley, of Irving; a daughter, Bonnie Seeley Cornelius of Ballston Spa, NY; a brother, LaVerne Seeley of Silver Creek; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Seeley of Boston, NY & Ina Seeley of Irving. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a twin brother, Willard Seeley; a brother, Robert Seeley and 2 sisters, Pearl Meyers and Jeanette Griewisch. Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock, with pastor Rebecca Ward of the Forestville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Mills Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 25 Hazelwood Drive, West Amherst, NY 14228.
