CATSKILL William Gavigan Seeley, 71, of Catskill died Friday at his home.

He was born in Catskill, and attended St. Patrick's Academy. He served with the 450th Army Air Forces unit during World War II and at the Hayward Army Air Field.

Mr. Seeley enjoyed golf, and many years ago worked at the Krodon Co. in Maplewood, N.J., making golf clubs. He later was employed as a golf pro at the Canasawacta Country Club in Norwich, Chenango County. Most recently he worked as a sales representative for Eber Brothers/Graves and Roger in Guilderland Center, and was a consultant for them at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Catskill Elks Lodge, and was active in Republican politics in Catskill and chairman for the Village Republican Committee in his district.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Seeley; three sisters, Dorothy Lawyer, Helen Pavolovich, and Alice Moon, all of Catskill; and three brothers, Kenneth Seeley, Lyle Seeley and Arthur Seeley, all of Catskill.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Remembrance Chapel at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, with burial in Catskill Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
