William Seeley, Beacon Resident, 71

William J. Seeley, 71, of 39 South Cedar street, Beacon, died yesterday in the Highland hospital, Beacon. He had been receiving treatment there for a heart ailment for a brief time.

Mr. Seeley, who had been retired since 1952, formerly was a fireman for the Dutchess Bakers Machine Co., Inc.

A resident of Beacon the greater part of his life, Mr. Seeley was born in Fishkill, Jan. 27, 1884, the son of the late Mortimer and Mary Bishop Seeley. He was educated in Beacon schools. His wife, Mrs. Margaret Maguire Seeley, whom he married in Beacon, Jan. 15, 1907, died Jan. 13, 1954.

Mr. Seeley was a member of Mase Hook and Ladder Co., of Beacon and formerly was a member of Local 1576, IAM.

Surviving are a son, W. Joseph Seeley, a driver for the Tompkins Hose Co., Beacon: a daughter, Mrs. Frank E. Tompkins, Beacon, and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock, Thursday at the Hignell Funeral home, 10 Willow street, Beacon. The Rev. Albert O. Tritsch, rector of St. Luke’s church, Beacon, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Luke’s cemetery, Beacon. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and tomorrow afternoon and night.

Services of the Mase Hook and Ladder Co., will be conducted at the Funeral home, tomorrow night.
