Carol Jean Seely

Carol Jean Seely, 74, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at Lake Ozark Retirement Center, Osage Beach, Mo.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Monday, May 7, at Hedges Funeral Home, Hwy. 42, Osage Beach. Services will be at 3 p.m., with Rev. Guillaume Williams of Hope Lutheran Church officiating.

On Wednesday, May 9, visitation, services and burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park, 3430 W. 4th St., Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1'2 p.m. and burial services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Fred Tessmer of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson, Iowa will officiate. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post 1623 and American Legion Post 138.

Carol was born Nov. 6, 1932, in Cudahy, Wisc. to Karl and Anna Busch Rube. At one year of age, she moved with her family to Waterloo. She graduated from West High School in Waterloo.

In 1952, Carol enlisted in the United States Air Force. She was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where she met her future husband, Calvin Seely. They were married on Sept. 3, 1953, in Richmond, Ind.

Carol and her husband moved from Colorado in 1992, to spend their retirement years at Lake of the Ozarks.

She was a member of the Lady Elks of Osage Beach, Our Lady of the Lake Wednesday Workshop and Tuesday Canasta Club.

She was an avid reader, loved bowling and enjoyed playing cards, crafting and painting.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Louise Leckington.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Seely of Mead Colo.; grandchildren, Sara and Jarrod Chacon, Rebecca Seely, and Mike Seely all of Colorado; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Rajeane Rube of Cedar Falls, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Regional Hospice, 514 W. Fremont, Lebanon, MO 65536 for the care of the residents at Lake Ozark Retirement Center, Osage Beach.
