Claude Seely Dies Week After Stroke

White Hall Farmer Passes Away Friday Morning; Funeral Sunday

White Hall. Sept. 16 – Claude Seely, well known farmer, died this morning at 2 o’clock at his home west of White Hall, following a stroke of paralysis suffered a week ago today.

Mr. Seely was father of Howard Seely, who was injured in an automobile collision recently. His illness may have been caused by excitement he experienced as a result of the wreck.

He was born near here Feb. 4, 1878, son of Americus and Dora Shackelford Seely. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mittie Rutherford Seely; four son and one daughter, Glenn of Hillview; Hal and Floyd, residing on farms near here; Howard and Helen at home.

Also surviving are one brother, Will Seely, Hillview; a half-brother, Clifford Seely, Peoria; sister, Mrs. Frank C. Griswold and stepmother, Mrs. Americus Seely, White Hall. There is one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the residence west of here, in charge of Rev. John Alexander of Hillview. Interment will be made in White Hall cemetery.
