Jewel Etta Seely


O'DONNELL Special) - Services for Jewel Etta Seely, 100, of O'Donnell will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at O'Donnell Church of Christ with Billy James officiating and Silas Short assisting.

Burial will be in Tahoka Cemetery under direction of White Funeral Home, Tahoka.

She died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997, at home in O'Donnell.

She was born Nov. 9, 1897, in Blum and attended school in Hill County. She moved from Blum to Garza County in 1914 and to Lynn County in 1915. She married Vernon O. Warren on Jan. 1, 1917. He died Jan. 30, 1920. She married J.L. Seely in 1931. He preceded her in death too. A daughter, Adrience Boydston, also preceded her in death, in 1988. She was a member of O'Donnell Church of Christ for 70 years. She was a member of the Women's Home Demonstration Group.

She was a farmer.

Survivors include three daughters, Vern'a Dodd of O'Donnell, Vera Lee of Hale Center and Norma Rene Davis of Sweetwater; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to O'Donnell EMS or Lubbock Children's Home.
