Lester E. Seely, 89, of East 16th St., Berwick, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at the Berwick Hospital Center.

Born June 25, 1921, in Nescopeck, he was the son of the late Edwin and Laura (Slusser) Seely.

A graduate of Nescopeck High School, he went on to serve as a Corporal in the United States Air Force during WWII. Mr. Seely was employed as a machinist and welder at the AC&F, and later at the Berwick Forge and Fabricating.

Outside of work, he was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed working in his garage.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Burns.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, the former Florence Johnson; his two sons: Don Seely and his wife, Kari, Gordy Seely; a grandson Aaron Seely all of Berwck; and his brother, Earl, and his wife, Becky, of Milton, Delaware.

A funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the First United Church of Christ, Front & Vine Streets, Berwick, with the Rev. Rebecca Broyan, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., Berwick.
