Marcella Dennigan Seely was born April 29, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. She passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 in her home. Viewing will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday in the lower level of the Parish Center at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and her Funeral Mass will be at 11AM, Thursday, March 14, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee.

She was raised in Brooklyn, New York to Irish immigrant parents James Dennigan and Mary McLaughlin.

She was married to John "Jack" Seely for 63 years until he passed away May 28, 2008. They married July 4, 1945 while he was in the Navy. They enjoyed many wonderful years together.

They lived in Tallahassee in the 1970's and then left and came back in the early 80's. Marcella and Jack were long time participating members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was involved in many activities.

She attended Mass daily until recent years. At Good Shepherd, she initiated the bereavement ministry and the celebration of St. Joseph's table every March 19. She was one of the founding members of the Ladies of Good Shepherd as well as one of the first kitchen angels. Jack and Marcella were very involved in the St. Patrick's Day celebration dinner at Good Shepherd.

Marcella was a big supporter of Irish cultural events in Tallahassee, such as Tallahassee Irish Society and Friends of Sligo. She participated in the Sister City program between Sligo, Ireland & Tallahassee, FL

Jack and Marcella were early members of Killearn Country Club. Marcella helped to establish, with the help of her husband, the "John and Marcella Seely Mechanical Engineering Endowed Fund" to support senior projects in the Mechanical Engineering Department at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

Marcella is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack; her parents, James and Mary Dennigan; her three brothers, James Dennigan, Joseph Dennigan and Martin Donegan and one sister, Patricia Kerrigan.

Marcella is survived by nieces and nephews which include Nancy Dennigan, Brian Dennigan, Tracey Dennigan, James Dennigan, Patrick Dennigan, Kathy Dennigan, Ellen Donegan and her cousins, Sr. Mary Ignatius (Ann Kerritan) and Josie Hoare and her sister-in-law Margaret Golightly, and a sister-in-law from Jack's side of the family and several nephews and nieces.

Marcella's family would like to thank her caregivers: Sandra Guyton, Sharon Williams, Cathy Jones, Katrina Peterson and others over the last few years for the love and dedicated service they provided to Marcella.

Marcella's family gives a special thank you to Margaret Haynes, Marcella's long time friend and guardian. The family will be forever grateful for the constant care and attention she provided Marcella especially in Marcella's time of great need.
