LINDSBORG - Marian L. Seely, 73, died July 4, 2012. She was born Aug. 14, 1938, to Roger William and Thora Mae (Todd) Rearick.

She married Walter K. Seely Sr. Dec. 18, 1958. Survivors include: sons, Walter "Kenny" Jr., James and Roger; daughter, Teresa Ferdinand; brother, John Jr.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral 10:30 a.m. Monday at the New Gottland Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. Visitation 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday with family present 2 to 4 p.m. at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson. Memorials to the New Gottland Lutheran Church.

Marian L. Seely, 73, of Lindsborg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the Salina Regional Health Center. She worked as a mutuel clerk in the horse racing industry in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Washington, retiring in 2002 from Emerald Downs in Auburn, WA. She also had worked at the Senior Center in Lindsborg, KS.

Marian was born on August 14, 1938, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Roger William and Thora Mae (Todd) Rearick. She graduated from McPherson High School and business school in Oklahoma City, OK. On December 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Walter K. Seely, Sr.

She attended the New Gottland Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Walter K. "Kenny" Seely, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of McPherson, KS, James A. Seely and wife, Jeanie, of McPherson, KS, and Roger W. Seely of McPherson, KS; a daughter, Teresa Ferdinand and husband, George, of Yelm, WA; a brother, John Vicencio, Jr. of Hutchinson, KS; ten grandchildren, David Seely, Ashley Torrey, Brodie Seely and wife, Audrey, Amanda Seely, Trisha Seely, Jacob Seely, Ashley Seely, Bryant Ferdinand, Delaney Seely, and Racheal Ferdinand; and five great-grandchildren, Chloe Seely, Dylan Cabezas, Rosie Melendez, Courtni Sherrer, and Raigyn Torrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, John Vicencio, Sr., and three sisters, Patricia Sampson, Joan Maske, and Delores Houltberg.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, July 9, 2012, at the New Gottland Lutheran Church with Rev. Harry Grinstad officiating. Cremation will take place after the service and inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg at a later date. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be given to the New Gottland Lutheran Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
