SEELY – Peter J. Seely passed to his heavenly home Sept. 16, 1890, aged seventy-two years. He was born at Morristown, N.J., Oct. 3, 1818, and was the son of Charles and Phebe Seely. In Milo, N.Y., April 4, 1844, he was united in marriage with Mary E. Hunt. He leaves a widow and two children who deeply lament their great loss. Brother Seely was converted in Port Gibson, Wayne county, N.Y., at the age of twenty-four years. As a member of the Methodist Episcopal church in Milo he was active and useful; acting as steward and class-leader for many years. His record is made and his reward is on high. During his last sickness he was patient and peaceful. He had committed himself to his loving Father, “persuaded that he was able to keep that he had committed to him against that day”. He died in the faith. “He rests from his labors and his works follow him”. J.V.B.
