Dee Seely Dies From Effects Of Injury, Tetanus

PATTERSON – Miss Thelma Dee Seely, 44, a well known school teacher, died at 11:40 o’clock Monday night at Boyd Memorial hospital in Carrollton. She was taken to the hospital last Saturday suffering from tetanus, having stepped on a nail.

Miss Seely was born Oct. 7, 1911, in the Oak Grove neighborhood, daughter of Harry and Ida Houghton Seely. She attended the Greene county schools and received her master’s degree at the Western Illinois Teachers College at Macomb.

The decedent had taught in schools at Kane, Hillview and Bluffs.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Seely, who reside one-half mile east of Patterson.

The remains were taken to the Dawdy Funeral Home at White Hall, where services will be held at 2:30 p.m. (DST) Thursday with the Rev. I.D. Gregory in charge. Burial will be made in White Hall cemetery. The parents will meet friends at the funeral home early Wednesday evening.

WHITE HAL – Funeral services for Miss Thelma Dee Seely of Patterson will be held at 2:30 p.m. daylight time Thursday at the Dawdy Funeral Home here. The Rev. L.D. Gregory will officiate and burial will be made in White Hall cemetery. The parents will meet friends at the funeral home early Wednesday evening.
