Valerie Charmaine Seely


Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Church on the Move for Valerie Seely, 56, who passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Tim Aguilar of Church on the Move will officiate, with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Valerie was born May 15, 1957, in Carlsbad, to James R. Wilson and Fermina Hernandez. Her mother preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Butch Buggs.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Seely; father, Jim Wilson and his partner, Bonnie, of Roswell; sons: Newman Seely, Will Seely, Joe Seely and wife, Jennifer, and Jake Seely and wife, Lacey, all of Roswell; sisters: Dorrie Faubus–McCarty and husband, Patrick William, of Roswell, and Kathleen Jio, of Las Cruces; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her favorite dog, Jack.

Valerie was a lifelong resident of Roswell and a 1975 graduate of Roswell High School. Valerie loved to read and she volunteered her time at Book Again Book Store. She was very involved with her sons, attending as many of Newman's activities as possible. Valerie was active with her church and a member of the School Parent Advisory Committee. She also enjoyed walking and swimming.

Serving as pallbearers are Will Seely, Joe Seely, Jake Seely, Newman Seely, James Jio, Rance Jio, Anthony Jio and David Jio. Honorary pallbearers are Jacqueline Snyder, Jamie Faubus-McCarty and Catherine Decello.
