Virginia L. Seely


Virginia L. Seely, 90, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013.

Born on March 26, 1922, in Great Cacapon, W.Va., to the late Lace Smith "Pete" Holliday and Elmer Florence Dawson Holliday.

She was the owner and operator of Jenny's Beauty Salon from 1959-1970. Tom and Virginia owned and operated the original Tom Seely Pine Furniture.

Virginia and Tom together, created the Tom & Virginia Seely Foundation to serve the children and their families of Morgan County.

She is survived by her husband, Harleigh "Tom" Seely, whom she married in 1970; one daughter, Jackie Gandy of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Garrett and Shawn Lord and Chelsea Fischer, all of Berkeley Springs. Special mention to niece, Monna Lee Hurst (Addison) of Waterford, Va.; nephew, Eugene Lutman (Judy) of Fredericksburg, Va.; great-niece, Pam Timmons (Troy); and great-nephew, Barry Lutman (Sherry) of Fredericksburg, Va.

She is preceded in death by her three sisters, Carrie Holliday, Jessie Ziler and Pearl Mechem; three brothers, Scott, Oliver and Boyd Holliday; one grandson, Christopher Morgan.

A memorial service will be held at the Trinity/Francis Asbury U.M.C. on Wilkes Street in Berkeley Springs on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. There will be visitation one hour before the service.
