Warren Benjamin Seely, Jr.(Buzzie),78 of Moss Point, MS died at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS Friday, May 18,2012 after a brief illness. He was born September 28, 1933 in Pascagoula, MS.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point-Escatawpa, MS on Sunday May 20, 2012 from 5-8PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m..

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church on Monday May 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Catherine Seely, his parents Warren B. and Bessie Pickett Seely, and his sister Barbara Jean McCool.

He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 56 years, Gail Garner Seely. He is also survived by his four children, Warren B. "Buddy" Seely, III and his wife Judy of Oxford, MS, Karen S. Freeman and her husband Derrick of Ridgeland, MS, Stephen Seely and his wife Beth of Ocean Springs, MS, and Christi Seely of Biloxi, MS.

He will also be remembered fondly by his five grandchildren Wes, Leigh, and Anna Claire Freeman, Cassie and Emily Crocker, and his sister Betty Lou (Wayne) Cook.

He graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1951 and was a resident of Jackson County his entire life. He then attended and graduated from the University of Mississippi, earning a B.S. ChE Degree in chemical engineering. While at Ole Miss, he was an active member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lt. in the United States Air Force.

After military service, he began a long and distinguished career as a chemical engineer with Rohm and Haas Chemical Company in Moss Point. He will be remembered as a very active member of the Gulf Coast community. He was involved in numerous civic, professional, and charitable organizations including The American Society of Chemical Engineers, Young Men's Business Club of Moss Point, the Ole Miss Alumni Association, BPOE Elks Lodge #1120, Jackson County Chapter President of The AARP, Council 1605 of The Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church.

He had a passion for his church, his family, his friends, Ole Miss, collecting antiques, and refinishing furniture. He was a member of the greatest generation. A true, classic southern gentleman, he will greatly missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Catherine Seely Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O The University of Mississippi Foundation, University, MS 38655.

Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
