Emery Lee Seely


Emery Lee Seely, 88, of Plain City, died Monday evening at Heartland of Marysville.

He was born July 20, 1902, at Jerome to Charles and Iva (Wollam) Seely. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David John Barry.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice (Norris) Seely, whom he married in 1933.

He was retired from the Main Post Office in Columbus, where he was a postal clerk. He was a former member of Jerome United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church in Columbus. He was a 50-year member of Urania Lodge #311, F&AM.

Also surviving are: a son, Robert L. Seely, Kokomo, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Donnalene) Barry of Arcanum, Ohio, and Marjene Caldwell of Plain City; three grandchildren, Donna Drew of Dallas, Texas, Robert L. Caldwell and Robert J. Seely, both of Plain City; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Erin Drew, both of Dallas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Jerome United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Cramer and Pastor Peter Foxx officiating. Burial will be in the Jerome Township Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home, Plain City, where Masonic services will be performed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
