SUSSEX, NB – Mr. James Spencer (Penny) Seely, of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on March 17, 2003. Born in Sussex on August 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Harry and Ethel (Adair) Seely. Penny was predeceased by his first wife Ethel (nee-Starkey) in 1988 and by his second wife Mary (nee-McFarlane) who passed away in 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Carter (Bill) of Moncton; his son, Jack Seely of Moncton; two step-daughters, Edith Robinson (Ralph) of Wards Creek, Velma Ratkowski (Clarence) of Hamilton, Ontario; three step-sons, Leon (Marilyn) of Saint John, Gordon (Eileen) of Sussex, Eldon (Pat) of Wards Creek; his step-daughter-in-law, Gloria Hayward of Sussex; two sister, Marge DeForest (Clarence) Of Salisbury, Doreen Dunfield (Havie) of Sussex; his brother, Dough (Yvette) of Fredericton; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Penny was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Fred; two sisters, Dorothy Fanjoy, and Audrey Loughery; a stepson, Lawrence. Arrangements in care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Tuesday 7 to 9 pm Wednesday 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service is from St. Paul’s United Church on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Trinity Cemetery in the spring. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stoke foundation or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m.
