BARBERTON -- Janice "Jan" Marlene Seely, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 4, 1932 in Little Orleans, Maryland, the daughter of her late parents, Harry and Gladys Lancaster. She was formerly a Registered Nurse at Akron City Hospital, Barberton Citizens Hospital and retired from the office of Drs. Cleary and Bianconi after 22 years of service. She was a very active member of Columbia United Church of Christ since 1954 serving on various committees and was a long-time member of the Church Choir.
Jan is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, George Seely; brother-in-law, Preston (Marge) Seely; sisters-in-law, Margaret Humphreys of Columbus, Ohio and Patricia Mitchell of Barberton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Robert (Christine) Seely of Barberton, Ohio and cousins, Beverly Krause and Bill Lancaster along with other family members in Maryland and West Virginia.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203. Funeral service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at the Columbia United Church of Christ, 978 Wooster Road, W., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor John Henniger officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Columbia United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
