Jennie Jones, daughter of John R. and Margaret Jones was born at Archer’s Fork, Ohio, July 2, 1859, and departed this life at her home northwest of Manchester, February 23, 1941, aged 81 years, seven months and 21 days.

She came to Abilene in 1871. Later her family homesteaded near Manchester on the farm on which she lived at the time of her death.

She was converted in young womanhood, was baptized and joined the United Brethren church.

She was united in marriage to George A. Seely, March 22, 1883. To this union was born one son, Charles Montrose and one daughter, Etta Ellen.

She is survived by her husband, her son Charles, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Harriet E. Courtney and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Etta Ellen, one sister, Mary McSparin, and four brothers, William, Miles, Amos, and James.

She was a loving wife, always willing to lend a helping hand, wherever necessary. She was patient through all her suffering, never complaining.
