Joy Seely, 75, of Clinton, was born June 30, 1932 in Enumclaw to Melva “Dickie” Watts and Forrest Watts.
She passed away peacefully on April 2, 2008 at Careage of Whidbey in Coupeville.
After growing up with her three brothers on a ranch in Ellensburg, Joy went to college at Central Washington University, majoring in home economics, and went on to model, teach home economics at Langley High School and then became a Boeing draftsperson, working on 747s and 767s.
Joy married Bud Smith in 1950 and lived in Washington, Idaho, Alaska and California before settling on Whidbey Island. She was later remarried to Victor Seely in 1982 after they met in their Boeing vanpool, and they were happily married for 25 years.
Joy was an expert homemaker, and loved cooking, cats, flowers, crafts, sewing and any chance to travel. She particularly enjoyed participating in Boeing’s community program to make holiday toys for needy children.
She is survived by her husband Victor Seely; and her brothers Jerald Watts, Ronald Watts and Kenneth Watts and their families.
