Mrs. Fred Seely Called to Rest

Death Summons Mother of Six Last Friday, September Seventeenth

Born in the city of Chicago in the year 1889, Julia Johnson, Mrs. Fred Seely of Motley, was called beyond at her home here last Friday, September 17th. Death coming as a result of childbirth, peritonitis and influenza.

Julia Johnson married Richard Conroy about 1911, divorcing him in 1916 and joining in marriage to Fred Seely of Motley. The restaurant and bet___ business became their life and they operated restaurants in Blackus, Minn., Pollack, So. Dak., and Verndale and Hewitt, Minn., as well as hotels in Pollock, Verndale, Hewitt and Motley, the latter venture of two years from 1918 being their last.

Mrs. Seely was a conscientious worker, persistent and unceasing. Her children were ever the center of her thought, a good and devoted mother and one whose earthly presence will be missed. Of her children she leaves two of her former marriage, Leona, 18, and Harold 15; four surviving from her latter marriage, Elizabeth, 9; Ronald, 7; Chester, 5 and Eddie, 2. The infant, birth of which was given Sunday, September 12th, preceded the mother in death by a few hours. Besides her children and husband, who is also in ill health, Mrs. Seely leaves three brothers and one sister to mourn her passing besides other relatives and a large host of friends.

Reverend Standring conducted home services at the Seely home Saturday noon and the remains of mother and baby were interred in the Eagle Bend cemetery.

The children are being taken into the home of kind relative to give them the training as was wont their mother to give.
