Julia Seely

Mrs. Seely

Mrs. Julia Seely, nee Thomas, was born in West Virginia, August 16, 1873. With her parents she moved to Grayson County, Texas, there living about seven years. After this they moved to the Indian Territory. Soon after this, her mother departed this life and amid strangers she had to bear the ills incident to an orphan.

She was married to Mr. Dave Seely January 24, 1890 and to this union were born four children, one of whom proceeded her to the Glory world.

She was converted during Rev. J. L. Gage series of meetings four years ago and united with the M. E. Church South which she loved.

During a meeting last summer, she received the second blessing. She said this made her a better Christian and caused her to honor God and serve His friends more.

She bore her afflictions with great patience and after loving hands could do no more, she said "all was well with her and she was ready to go."

The funeral services were held in absence of the pastor, by Rev. Crawford of Ardmore, before a large congregation that has assembled. Many tears of sympathy were shed and resolutions formed I hope will tell in eternity.

She was laid away in the Kingston Cemetery.

As she is the broken link of her earthly home, may her beckoning hands draw her loved ones that they may be an unbroken family around the throne in heaven.
