Kenneth Lee Seely

Kenneth Lee Seely
1929-2011

Kenneth Lee Seely of Fredericton passed away on Thursday May 5, 2011 at the Chalmers hospital. Born in Woodstock in 1929, he was the son of the late W. Lee and Lillian Seely, and brother to the late H.E Seely.

Ken spent 38 years working for the once-heralded Fraser Companies Ltd. After a brief stay in Plaster Rock, as an apprentice, he moved to Edmundston where he married Vivian (nee Goodwin), raised a family within sight of the Edmundston pulp mill, and eventually became company treasurer. In addition to his employment at Fraser Companies Ltd., he spent time losing balls at the Edmundston Golf Course and hurling rocks through the house at the Edmundston Curling Club. Never one to shy away from telling a story, cracking a joke, or polishing a car, his great sense of humor and general good fun will be sadly missed.

Ken is survived by his wife Vivian, daughter Sharman MacKenzie (Alan) of Lower Sackville, NS; Fraser Seely (Sheila Bean) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Tania Peveril, Karen MacKenzie, Laura MacKenzie, Arden Seely, Connor Seely, and great-grandchildren MacKenzie Peveril and Madison Peveril, who lovingly called him "brown grampy."

A service will be held in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, 160 York Street at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 9, 2011, followed by a reception. Rev. Canon Bruce McKenna will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Red Cross or your favorite charity. On-line condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com
