Kenneth W. Seely


Funeral service for a well known lifetime Algona man, Kenneth W. Seely, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday), in the First Lutheran Church. Pastor Daniel Mangier will officiate and burial is in Riverview Cemetery, the Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers are Larry A. Hudson, Alan Seely, Larry Taylor, Wilbur Christensen, Gary Pijahn and Marvin Calhoun.

Kenneth W. Seely was born at Algona on April 29, 1906, a son of James and Agnes Brown Seely. He graduated from Algona High School in 1925 and worked as a buttermaker for the Algona Creamery many years.

Kenneth was married to Helen O. Johnson at Omaha, Neb. Dec. 31, 1932. He operated a creamery at Dolliver, la., then farmed near Algona and Vinton until 1955. Mr. Seely was employed at Algona Flour and Feed until his retirement.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church where he was head usher for many years and also the church treasurer.

Mrs. Seely died Jan. 19, 1970 and Kenneth is survived by 2 children; Victor A. Seely, San Antonio, Texas and Kendra L., Mrs. Keith Seely of Universal City, Texas. There are 3 grandchildren.

Two brothers, Claude and Howard, are deceased.
