Laura Bourgeois Seely, 99, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, died at 6 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by one son, S.J. "Pete" Seely and wife, Dorothy, of Houma; one daughter, Myra Seely McDaniels and husband, Harold, of Conway, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Susan Faulk and husband, Bryon, of Broussard, Mike Seely and wife, Sheila, Pat Seely and wife, Dianne, Jill Seely Bianca, all of Houma, Laurie Dugas and husband, Buba, of Prairieville, Seely Lucas and husband, Alan, of Conway, and Happy McDaniels of Lafayette; 13 great-grandchildren, Brian Seely and wife, Lindsay, of Baton Rouge, Ashley Seely, Kristi Robert and husband, Steven, Amanda Seely of Houma, Brett Faulk, Michelle Faulk of Broussard, Jacob Seely, Ben Seely of Houma, Jarred Dugas, Baylen Dugas, Jayclen Dugas of Prairieville, Molly Lucas of Memphis, Tenn., and Brad Lucas of Little Rock, Ark.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Joey Bohannos of Broussard and Cooper Robert of Houma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney J. Seely Sr.; her parents, Francois Bourgeois and Nan Bourgeois; one grandson, Daniel Bruce Seely; two great-grandsons, Christopher Seely and Joey McDaniels; four brothers, Charles, Raymond, Wilson and Mack Bourgeois; and four sisters, Odette Theriot, Sister Usie, Lucille Boudreaux and Mathilde Bourgeois.

She was a homemaker.

Ma Maw Seely had many true loves and desires in life. She especially loved her family, grandkids and great-grandkids. Beyond her wants, she wished more than anything to make the century mark in her wonderful life to be able to receive the acknowledgement from President George W. Bush.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
