Loretta Jones Seely


DARLINGTON — Funeral service for Mrs. Loretta Jones Seely of Darlington will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pastor Daryl Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Darlington Memorial Cemetery directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., Darlington.

Mrs. Seely died Friday, November 28 in a Florence hospital after an illness. She was born in Darlington, a daughter of the late Frank and Rosa Lee Smith Jones. She was the widow of Mallard Seely.

She received her formal education in Darlington County and New York public schools. At an early age, she attended Macedonia Baptist Church. In New York, she was a member of Convent Baptist Church. After returning to Darlington, she joined Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Jones of Darlington and Linda Jones (Willie) Miller of Yonkers, N.Y.; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Jones Simon of Darlington; one brother, Robert (Hazel) Jones of Harrisburg, Pa.; five grandsons; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; special nieces, Mrs. Frankie (Willie) Jacobs and Ronnette Blair; other nieces and nephews.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her sister, Lydia Jones Simon of 432 Opal Street, Darlington.
