Louise Frandsen Seely

Mt. Pleasant, UT – On February 3, 2002, Louise Frandsen Seely passed away in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

Born March 19, 1907 at the home of her parents, Willard Lauritz and Bothilda Hansen Grandsen. She graduated from North Sanpete High School and received a Normal Teaching Certificate from Utah State Agricultural College.

On July 10, 1929 he married Willis Neil Madsen. The young couple homesteaded near Scofield, Utah, before returning to Mt. Pleasant where their daughter was born. Their happiness was short-lived as Willis contracted pneumonia and died on Thanksgiving Day, 1934.

On July 15, 1936 she married Mayor Justus O. Seely in Salt Lake City; later a son was born to them. J.O. died on January 2, 1981.

Through the years Louise was very active in her church, in civic affairs, and cultural pursuits. Her love for beauty is well known.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Seamons or Orem; son, Justus F. (Averil) Seely of Corvallis, OR; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, five sisters, two brothers and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2002, in the Mt. Pleasant Fourth Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby-Funeral Mortuary, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
