Lovenia was born in Comanche, Oklahoma, to parents, Edward Leroy and Nannie Mae Sprouse. She was the second child of six, 3 sisters, Jimmie, Alice and Virginia and 2 brothers, Henry and Hershal. She is preceded by Daniel J. Seely, her husband of 65 years at the time of his death.

She has resided in Bakersfield for almost 50 years. Her children claim her to be the best Mom, cook and homemaker possible. There are 3 children, daughter, Shirley and husband, Roy Johnson; daughter, Pat and husband, Bruce Jacobson; and son, Daniel J. Seely and wife, Perleen; 6 grandchildren, Rodney Johnson and wife, Sherry, Brenda Johnson, Ward Johnson, Troy Johnson, Debbie Freeman and husband, Steve and Don Stanford; 7 great grandchildren, Amber and Kristi Freeman, Darren and Jenifer Johnson, Tiffany and Troy Jr., Johnson and Danny Johnson.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, at 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday 4 to 8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary.
