Madge M. Seely


VALDOSTA -- Madge M. Seely, 95, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Darke County, Ohio, and had lived in Elwood, Ind., and Clearwater, Fla., before moving to Valdosta in 1992. Mrs. Seely was a retired bookkeeper and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Madaline and Charles Newstrom of Whitney, Texas, Judith Williamson of Sumner, Wash., Karen and Bob Buchheit of Valdosta, Andrea and Jerry Fox of Elwood, Ind.; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Jennifer Newstrom of Tulsa, Okla., Jeff and Lorie Newstrom of Bedford, Texas, Jane and Craig Morton of Broken Arrow, Okla., Kim and Colin Fielding of Sumner, Wash., Debra and Jay Smith of Thomasville, Ga., Angela and Neal Culbreth of Valdosta, Danna and John Whitaker, Jera and Tim Bragg and Emma Fox, all of Elwood, Ind.; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murel Seely; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; six brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Michaels officiating. Entombment rites will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Seely family.
